My Dad - Dad

What special quality do you remember about you father?  What words did he live by?  What did he do in his free time?

Dad was honest.  His word was his bond.  He always sang in a church choir and I sang beside him in the Baptist Church in Scarsdale, NY when I became old enough.

Dad was on the scout committee when I was in scouts.  As chairman of the advancement committee, he signed my Eagle card.

Dad was very organized and precise.  He had a scientific mind.  I remember him helping me clearly state some of the things I wrote in my doctorate thesis.

My mom - mom

What special quality do you remember about your mother? What is something she always said? Do you remember how she dressed?

My favorite memory of my mom is when I was young. My mom loved to laugh. That is a special quality that has been passed down to all her children. Mom loved to get my dad with practical jokes. I don't recall her pulling us kids into her jokes but she never hid them from us, at least not when they went down. She always dressed in style. At her peek it was capries and bobbie socks with white ankle tennis type shoes. She loved people, doing things with them, even if it was just sitting around the living room. Mom loved people.
